Minnesota Wild Shut Out The New Jersey Devils 4-0

After the win against the Canadians on Friday, 4-3, the Minnesota Wild took to the ice to play the New Jersey Devils. Josh Harding faced Cory Schneider in net. Minnesota has had a problem solving Schneider going back to when he played for Vancouver. Tonight, was not a problem. Half the first period though, it looked like the Wild were sleep walking. They could not get the puck out of their own end and Harding had to come up with a few great saves. Turnovers and penalties also played a major role. The Wild has always had an up and mostly down Power Kill but tonight it was like an extinguisher. Put out each and every Power Play fire. Mikael Granlund finally got his first goal of the season along with Torrey Mitchell, who spent a good chunk of time up on the top line with Mikko and Zach. Mitchy is such an underrated player. He skates hard and works hard. he is a major force on our PK, so I was very happy to see him get the acknowledgement that he so deserves. Dany Heatley finally scored a goal with a goalie in net. So happy for him. I know this is slump has to be frustrating but this was his best game so far. Looking like the Dany that I love. The NHL #1 star of the week, Jason Pominville, scored an empty netter to end the game making it 4-0. Had to feel bad for the Devils. They had played the night before at home and then traveled to Minnesota. They also have several injuries and a rookie who was accidently hurt in the game. I love and admire Jaromir Jaqr so much along with Martin Brodeur. I sincerely hope that they find their footing and find some success. This was Harding’s 9th career shut out and his second of the season. he earned a start for the night from the NHL for his effort. Zach Parise told Michael Russo of the Star Tribune “As a player, you always hate practicing and scrimmaging against your own team, and that’s what it felt like for me the whole game,”.  The Wild next take on the Calgary Flames tomorrow night in Minnesota.
