MONSTERS MELT HERSHEY BEARS

In the first game of the Calder Cup Finals, the Lake Erie Monsters defeat the Hershey Bears on the road in the Giant Center in front of 8875 fans.  Jakub Vrana scored the first and only goal of the game for the Bears giving Hershey the 1-0 lead late in the 1st period.  The Monsters regrouped while trailing early and started a 4 unanswered goal campaign.  Midway through the 2nd period Daniel Zaar light the lamp for the Monsters to tie the game at 1-1 assisted by Alex Broadhurst and Steve Eminger.  Midway through the 3rd period Trent Volgelhuber light the lamp to give Lake Erie the lead of 2-1 assisted by Ryan Craig and Steve Eminger.  Late in the 3rd period Daniel Zaar struck again unassisted to put the Monsters up 3-1 and Hannikainen scores assisted by Dean Kukan and Oliver Bjorkstrand for a 4-1 lead. Anton Forsberg earns a hard fought win with 25 saves.
