According to The Vertical, the Los Angeles Lakers and free-agent center Timofey Mozgov have reached a verbal agreement on a four-year, $64 million deal.
Mozgov, who was acquired in a trade where Cleveland sent two first-round picks to the Denver Nuggets back in January of 2015 has spent the last two seasons with the Cavaliers.
In his first season with the Cavaliers Mozgov played a key role as he averaged, 10.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. He started in all 20 games during the postseason, which came to an end in the NBA Finals where the Cavaliers were defeated by the Golden State Warriors.
This past season Mozgov saw a reduced role and averaged just 6.3 points and 4.4. rebounds and just 1.2 points in 5.8 minutes during the postseason. And only 25 total minutes played in the NBA Finals which went seven games.
Mozgov who turns 30 on July 16th, will help fill the void at the center position for the Lakers.
