UFC 202 Preview

UFC 202: Diaz vs. McGregor 2 will be live tonight from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With the recent selling of the Ultimate Fighting Championship in a $4.2 billion deal with WME-IMG, the organization continues to grow as projected. Following an eventful UFC 200 with the suspension of Jon Jones and the highly anticipated bout between Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley at UFC 201, the lead up to the rematch between Nate Diaz and Connor McGregor has been far from disappointing.

Much like the cards before it, UFC 202  will host a number of highly anticipated bouts, but the event receiving attention primarily from its main event, a rematch between two UFC superstars.

The UFC 202: Diaz vs. McGregor 2 card will go as follows:

Main Event

Nate Diaz (20-10-0)  vs.  [C] Connor “The Notorious” McGregor (19-3-0) : Welterweight

Following the first bout between Diaz and McGregor at UFC 196 when Diaz, who took the fight on 11 days notice in the place of Rafael dos Anjos, caught a second-round rear naked choke, McGregor immediately set out for a rematch.

Since the UFC’s official announcement of the rematch, originally set for July 9, 2016, tensions between the Featherweight Champion and long time UFC superstar heightened. With the fight being rescheduled due to conflict with McGregor and media, the rematch has become one the most highly anticipated bouts in UFC history.

While the main event has captured the most attention, additional fights to look out for include Cody Garbrandt vs. Takeya Mizugaki and co-main bout Anthony “Rumble” Johnson vs. Glover Teixeira.
