SCLAGGER’S SLANT, WEEK 8 FANTASY FOOTBALL

SCHLAGGER’s Slant Week 8
Every Thursday during the NFL fantasy season, I will give you an in depth look at the week ahead. This article will focus on a few targets and values on both Draftkings (DK) and Fanduel (FD). At the end of the article, I will list players that will be in my cash game lineups on DK. Quick disclaimer: Cash games are 50/50’s where the top half of the entries cash and head to heads against other users. GPP’s are big tournaments where about 20% of the entries cash and have huge payouts for 1st place.

Note: This will be for the Sunday Main Slate. Not including Thursday Night and Monday Night Football.

Quarterbacks:

Aaron Rodgers (7500 on DK- There are two clear choices at QB this weekend and it all depends if you want pay up or save. Rodgers is the choice if paying up. He has a 25 point team total on the weekend in one of the higher over/under games. The Falcons rank 29th in the league and the Packers don’t have a clear RB option with Ty Montgomery playing over 50% of the snaps at RB. I love Rodgers and I believe this game will shootout this weekend.

Jameis Winston (5700 on DK)- Winston has been a guy that is tough to figure out. It seemed the Bucs were going to be very pass happy this season but then they came out on Monday Night Football three weeks ago and ran the ball 35 times. They got back to the pass game last week and with the Raiders struggles against the pass they should continue to pass a lot. He is simply way too cheap and he is definitely the best value on the board.

Running Backs:

Devonta Freeman (6500 on DK)- Freeman should play on nearly every down this weekend. Tevin Coleman will be out for multiple weeks. We already touched on how high scoring this game is predicted to be but if you look at the ranks, the Packers rank 1st against the run. This would scare the common fantasy player but it does not scare me. This game is stackable (which means to play 3 or 4 players from a particular game). He is only $6500 and he is guaranteed 20+ touches, that is a guy I want in my cash lineups this weekend.

Devontae Booker (3700 on DK)- He will be nearly 85% owned in cash games. CJ Anderson has been ruled out for likely the rest of the season. Denver has a high team total and they are a 5 to 6 point favorite. This means that they should be running the ball in the 4th quarter. There isn’t much more to say lock Booker in all your cash games.

Wide Receivers:

Mike Evans (8100 on DK)- This almost seems too easy. We touched on the Raiders pass defense earlier and Evans is the main target for Winston. He has excelled when Vincent Jackson is out of the lineup. He is a target machine, he had 13 targets last week without Vincent Jackson and I think this week he could be in for 15+. He is clearly my top cash game option at WR this week.

Randall Cobb (6500 on DK)- Another guy that is just simply too cheap in a high scoring game. Every Packer WR is getting a massive amount of usage. Cobb will get a chance to carry the ball some as well. I love the Packers and Falcons offense this week. Get as many players as possible from this game in your lineups.

Tight Ends:

Jimmy Graham (6100 on DK)- Again, I do not believe this is the week to pay up for a TE but if you do Graham is your guy. Graham has been used correctly this season for the Seahawks. He is becoming Wilson’s #1 option and commanding 8-10 targets per game. This will be a revenge game for Graham against his former team so you know he will do everything he can to have a huge game.

Jack Doyle (3500 on DK)- I completely missed out on rostering Doyle last week but he comes back this week in another good matchup. Nearly every week I have continued to roster cheap TE’s because it allows me to get to high dollar players. Doyle or Charles Clay fit that strategy this week. Luck looks for the TE when he is in the redzone. I project Doyle for 4 catches for 40 yards and a TD, which will be enough to hit value.

Defense:

Broncos (3700 on DK)- This week is very difficult to find a defense you can trust. I rank the Broncos first because I think they are safe at home. They should be able to get 3 to 4 sacks and pick off Rivers at least once. There isn’t much to love here but they are by far the safest.

Kansas City Chiefs (2800 on DK)- If the Chiefs were at home they would be a core play this week. Targeting defenses against Andrew Luck are never a bad thing because he turns the ball over but the Colts are going to score points which hurts the defense. Right now, I believe paying up for the Broncos and playing it safe is the best route.

Guys I’m most likely to have in Draftkings cash games: (No Order)

QB: Aaron Rodgers, Jameis Winston, Matt Ryan
RB: Devonta Freeman, David Johnson, Devontae Booker, Spencer Ware, Jacquizz Rodgers, Christine Michael
WR: Mike Evans, Julio Jones, Randall Cobb, Willie Snead, Julian Edelman, Ty Montgomery, Quincy Enunwa
TE: Jimmy Graham, Jack Doyle, Charles Clay, Gary Barnidge
D: Broncos, Jets, Chiefs
