Brooklyn Nets

Pistons beat Nets 101 to 99

Brook Lopez is really good. Being with the Nets his whole career can make people forget that, but he’s probably one of the better big men of this decade and he showed his talent off going for 34 points and 11 rebounds in this 8 point win. He’s added a major element to his game going 4-8 from three point range in this one (he made 2 threes all of last season).

In this win some of the nets pieces of the future looked really good. Former Cincinnati Bearcat Sean Kilpatrick had 24 points and 10 rebounds off the bench and added an unexpected element of shooting from deep going 4-4 from downtown. Also unsurprisingly if you watched him throughout his UVA career former Cavalier Joe Harris had 13 points on 6-9 shooting. As a team the Nets aren’t going to lose many games when they go 13-27 (.481%) from three point range.

Pistons centerpiece Andre Drummond struggled in this one, going for 6 points and 6 rebounds and showed an inability to cover a center who could expand his range in the way Brook Lopez did. Forwards Tobias Harris and Marcus Morris had a very nice day in the loss combining for 46 points and 8 rebounds on 16-30 shooting (5-9 from deep.)

This was going to be a tough game for the Pistons going in as they were on their 3rd game in 4 nights, the y now must prepare for a 4 game road trip to the west coast, which includes a trip to San Antonio for a reunion game for Pistons center Boban Marjanovic whom got a DNP in the loss.
