Charlotte Hornets

Hornets thrive off turnovers and win easily over Pacers

The Pacers continue to be bad at defense. Kemba Walker had 24 points and 10 assists, and the Hornets scored on their first 12 possessions to build a 21-point lead in the first quarter on their way to a 122-100 rout of the Pacers on Monday night. Paul George after the game said “We are looking bad. We are terrible right now.” Which is probably concerning, considering we’re only about two weeks into the season.

The Hornets had 8 guys score at least 10 points in the win. The most impressive of which other than the aforementioned Kemba Walker was likely Spencer Hawes, whom came off the bench and scored 13 points and 13 rebounds. A big key in this game was the Hornets getting 35 points off of turnovers, compared to just 18 by the Pacers.

The lone bright spot for the Pacers in the loss was CJ Miles. Miles had 23 points in 25 minutes and made 5 of his teams 9 threes for the game. Other then Miles the Pacers as a team shot just 4-22 from three point range. Paul George was very ineffective in this game, scoring 10 points on 4-12 shooting with 6 assists and 7 rebounds.
