SCHLAGGER’s Slant Week 10
Every Thursday during the NFL fantasy season, I will give you an in depth look at the week ahead. This article will focus on a few targets and values on both Draftkings (DK) and Fanduel (FD). At the end of the article, I will list players that will be in my cash game lineups on DK. Quick disclaimer: Cash games are 50/50’s where the top half of the entries cash and head to heads against other users. GPP’s are big tournaments where about 20% of the entries cash and have huge payouts for 1st place.
Note: This will be for the Sunday Main Slate. Not including Thursday Night and Monday Night Football.
Aaron Rodgers (7600 on DK): I have been on Aaron Rodgers the last three weeks if paying up for a QB. The main reason is because the Packers have zero run game right now which means they are going to pass the ball nearly every down. Vegas expects this game to be close and the over/under is around 50. If paying up this is where you go but I think paying down at QB is the way I will go this weekend.
Dak Prescott (6100 on DK): Tony Romo has been cleared but Dak is still the starting QB for the Dallas Cowboys. This is another game Vegas has as a high over/under at about 50. Steeler’s defense is in the middle of the pack against the pass. We know the Cowboys will have to score to beat the Steelers because the Steelers offense is way better at home. I like Dak’s price and I think he’s the best QB value on the board.
David Johnson (8400 on DK): This is clearly the best play on the board this week. This would be an automatic play but we have to factor in his price. This price tag is tough to fit in but easier if we pay down at QB. The 49ers run defense is the worst in the league against the run and as we know the 49ers run tons of offensive plays which means the Cardinals offense will be on the field a lot. I would be shocked if Johnson doesn’t have 125 total yards with five catches and a touchdown.
Peyton Barber (3900 on DK): We know that Doug Martin is back at practice but he is still a week or two away from returning. Barber is the lead back and going to get most of the carries in that offense. I predict the game to be very close and I firmly believe Barber is in for at least 15 carries in the game. I love that kind of volume for $3900.
Alshon Jeffery (6600 on DK): Alshon is back to full strength with his buddy Jay Cutler throwing to him. Jeffery is just simply too cheap on Draftkings this week. The Bucs are rated 30th in the NFL against WR’s this season. I believe he is in for around 11 targets this weekend which should be good enough for 7 catches. Jeffery comes in as the best WR value on the board this weekend.
Tyrell Williams (5700 on DK): This is another guy that I feel is too cheap for his skill set and volume that he should receive this weekend. He is clearly the top target for Phillip Rivers and he is in a game that should produce points. Williams has missed practice everyday this week so we have to make sure he is active and ready to go. He missed practice most of last week too and still played. Travis Benjamin is likely to miss this game on Sunday so he could see even more targets than I even originally projected.
Jimmy Graham (5300 on DK): Graham is coming off a great game last week and he is receiving the targets he needs to receive to pay off his price. The Seahawks will need to throw to keep up with the Patriots so we can project Graham to receive 8 to 10 targets. My issue is I don’t believe we can spend up on TE in cash games. We need the salary at RB and WR this week to fit in all the top spends.
Zach Miller (3600 on DK): I am looking at the Bears offense this week with a couple value plays. I touched on Jeffery earlier and now it is Zach Miller. I write up weekly TE’s who are cheap because I think that is where DK is taking us weekly. I want to get in all the top guys and sprinkle in other values. I love the Bears pass offense this week and Miller is the 2nd option in that offense. I believe he easily pays off his cheap $3600 price tag.
Cardinals (3700 on DK): I hate the price tag but I love the matchup here. By now, we know how bad the 49ers offense is and the Cardinals are at home. It is a great matchup but currently I do not think I can spend $3700 on a defense. I am looking to save anywhere I can.
Chargers (2900 on DK): It seems that rostering defenses against Ryan Tannehill are profitable weekly. He takes too many sacks and he is good for an interception. I believe the price is good enough to take a chance on an average defense in a good matchup.
Guys I’m most likely to have in Draftkings cash games: (No Order)
QB: Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, Cam Newton, Ryan Tannehill
RB: David Johnson, LeVeon Bell, Melvin Gordon, Peyton Barber, DuJuan Harris (if Hyde out), Devonta Freeman
WR: Alshon Jeffery, Mike Evans, Tyrell Williams, Ty Montgomery, Jarvis Landry, Quincy Enunwa, Richard Matthews
TE: Jimmy Graham, Zach Miller, Delanie Walker, Rob Gronkowski
D: Cardinals, Texans, Chargers, Panthers
