SCHLAGGER’S SLANT, Week 13 Fantasy Football

SCHLAGGER’s Slant Week 13
Every week during the NFL fantasy season, I will give you an in depth look at the week ahead. This article will focus on a few targets and values on both Draftkings (DK) and Fanduel (FD). At the end of the article, I will list players that will be in my cash game lineups on DK. Quick disclaimer: Cash games are 50/50’s where the top half of the entries cash and head to heads against other users. GPP’s are big tournaments where about 20% of the entries cash and have huge payouts for 1st place.

Note: This will be for the Sunday Main Slate. Not including Thursday Night and Monday Night Football.

Quarterbacks:

Drew Brees (7600 on DK): Drew Brees at home is nearly money every week. His home/road splits are crazy and this week he gets a very average Lions pass defense. The game total in Vegas is 53.5 for this game so everything is pointing at Brees this weekend. I am slightly concerned with paying up for a QB and making sure everything fits but if you have the money Brees is the clear #1 QB this week.

Russell Wilson (6300 on DK): I can’t believe I’m writing up Wilson over Aaron Rodgers but Wilson is a slightly better value. Carolina has nearly given up on defense and Wilson is at home where he is much better. I think this game has a chance to be a sneaky shootout if the Panthers can score. Aaron Rodgers is another option this week because his price is just too cheap. If you told me before the year that I would get Aaron Rodgers at $6700 for a week I would have locked him in without even thinking about it.

Running Backs:

David Johnson (9500 on DK): This is why I said above that you may not be able to afford Brees. I do not believe we have seen a RB at this price yet this season. Players will have a tough time deciding between Johnson and Le’Veon Bell this weekend because they both are nearly automatic for 17-20 points. Johnson and Bell are both involved in the pass game but I like Johnson’s rushing yard projection better this weekend. One thing to watch is Johnson’s finger injury. He said he is going to play through it but you have to make sure he is full go before rostering him.

Jeremy Hill (4300 on DK): I touched on Hill in last week’s Slant and again I’m targeting him this week. Again, he is way too cheap for a starting running back that doesn’t have Gio Bernard to take snaps. Last week, he had 6 targets in the pass game which was more than he has had in any game this year. You will have to save money somewhere this week and Hill is the guy to help balance your roster.

Wide Receivers:

Antonio Brown (9100 on DK): I know everyone that reads this is going to say I can’t roster Brown and David Johnson in the same cash lineup. It is tough but it can be done if you find the correct values. I don’t need to say much about Brown. The Steelers are at home and they are far better in the pass game at home. Brown is going to see his targets and he is most likely going to score. I firmly believe the best route in cash games is locking in Brown and Johnson and figuring out all the values at the other positions.

Willie Snead (5100 on DK): I’ve mentioned throughout the article that you won’t have enough money to roster Brees so get one of his top targets at a nice price. Snead’s price is nice but the Saints WR’s have been up and down this season. A perfect example of this is Brandin Cooks getting 0 targets last week. I think Snead is very safe and it gives you the opportunity to get a piece of the Saints offense.

Tight Ends:

Travis Kelce (4700 on DK): Kelce may be a little too expensive but he is the clear top TE this week given price. Kelce has come alive over the past couple weeks with 8 and 7 targets. Falcons pass defense is terrible and Alex Smith seems locked in to Kelce right now.

Lance Kendricks (2900 on DK) or Charles Clay (2600 on DK): I’ll be honest I don’t love either one of them but you need to save salary. I am hoping for 4 catches for 40 yards from Kendricks or Clay and move on. Clay is questionable so you may need to go Kendricks but if Clay is active I think he will be my TE I roster in cash.

Defense:

Broncos (3900 on DK): Streaming defenses against the Jags and Blake Bortles has been successful for us this season. The Broncos are at home and prime to dominate this game. I would be shocked if the Broncos don’t score a defensive touchdown this weekend.

Chargers (2900 on DK): I don’t love the matchup but it is certainly a plus matchup against the Bucs. Jameis Winston has been very turnover prone early in his NFL career. The Chargers should get a couple sacks and an INT and hopefully be good enough for 6-7 defensive points.

Guys I’m most likely to have in Draftkings cash games: (No Order)

QB: Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Tyrod Taylor, Andy Dalton
RB: David Johnson, Le’Veon Bell, Jeremy Hill, Latavius Murray, Darren Sproles
WR: Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, Willie Snead, Kenny Britt, Marquess Wilson, Marquis Lee
TE: Travis Kelce, Lance Kendricks, Charles Clay
D: Broncos, Chargers, 49ers, Dolphins, Redskins
