According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Brock Lesnar and Jon Jones will both serve one-year suspensions as of Thursday. Lesnar, after failing his second U.S. Anti-Doping Association drug tests surrounding his UFC 200 return, has been handed a one-year suspension and a fine of $250,000.
As for Jones, it’ll will just be a one-year suspension after his settlement agreement was approved Thursday by the NSAC.
In hindsight, this is good news for both as they were originally both facing two-year suspensions.
Despite both testing positive, the two both denied the use of any banned substance, Lesnar saying, “We will get to the bottom of this.” And Jones saying he was sure his “B” sample would come back negative, but it did not.
Lesnar, who has returned to WWE and continues to make brief appearances here and here is most likely done with the UFC. As for Jones a return is very likely.
