It’s no secret that the Philadelphia 76ers have to make a decision about their big guys sooner or later. With Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor and Ben Simmons there’s clearly not enough room. And with their need for a guard being as high as it is, it’s definitely time to make a decision.
According to separate sources, the 76ers trade talks are heating up for Noel which is why he was removed from the rotation Sunday night.
Brett Brown said the reason for Noel being removed from the rotation wasn’t for his comments after the Lakers game on Friday night, but for a more balanced rotation.
“I think we’re going to stick with this rotation for a while,” said Brown. “I don’t feel the balance of the team with 3 big men (playing). The ripple effects are real.”
The team that is said to be the front runner is the Portland Trailblazers.
“He’s definitely gone,” one source added. “He’s not happy and the team’s not happy with him.”
They would go onto add, “This is the Michael Carter-Williams situation all over again. He’s lazy, is always late and doesn’t workout when they (76ers) tell him to.”
Noel is averaging 5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game this season.
