So Mike Tomlin said that they are dealing with Antonio Brown internally. They are going to penalize him and not the team. He also said that the NFL will probably fine him. Tomlin also said it’s time to move on and this will not be a distraction. The Steelers were able to not have the Joey Porter situation be a distraction last week. So if he says this won’t be a distraction, I will probably buy into it.
We have heard Mike Tomlin speak out. His quarterback spoke out about it today also. Both are disappointed and frustrated with his behavior. Both also pointed out that it was not meant in a malicious way. They also completely support him as the great player he is.
Everyone on the planet, that knows what AB is about, knows he loves his team but he loves himself even more. This is one of the factors that makes him so good, but also frustrating because this type of behavior can pop up. Something else we know is the fact that this stuff is not going to go away. So, after we get beyond this, I am sure there will be something new by next season.
This week the Patriots coach was asked about it and this is Hello had to say.
“As you know I’m not on SnapFace and all those. .. I’m not too worried what they put on InstantChat.”
Mr Bill is hysterical… and we all know that he knows what the other forms of social media are. So, this is his way of looking and sounding out of touch so that he can ignore the comment and stay above the fray.
Those thinking this is something to put on a bulletin board are out of touch. Tom Brady is 9-2 against the Steelers including the playoffs. I am fairly certain they are not needing any extra motivation.
Julian Edelman spoke out and was not surprised at all by Browns video. Here is what he had to say.
“That’s how that team is run,” Edelman told WEEI. “I personally don’t think that would be something that would happen in our locker room, but hey, whatever. Some people like red and some people like blue. Some people like tulips and some people like roses, whatever.”
Edelman is a talented receiver that has a history of being fiery on the field and running his mouth to opponents after catches. He whines as much as any other wide out in the game. If anyone comes near him or his space on the field the referee will know immediately. In this instance, he was trying to get beyond the comments in his own arrogant way.
Brady also was asked and said that type of thing would never fly in that locker room. Guess what Tom, it does not fly here either, but it did happen.
