The Dallas Cowboys have been making headlines this off-season for all of the wrong reasons. And the headlines continued on Sunday.
With a potential suspension still looming over the head of running back Ezekiel Elliot for an incident stemming back to July of 2016, Elliot was involved in a late-night altercation in a Metroplex club.
No arrests were made in the alleged altercation.
Teammate Dez Bryant came to Elliot’s defense on Twitter posting,
It’s still unclear if Elliott will face a suspension of some sort from the 2016 incident where he was questioned by Ohio police after a former girlfriend accused Elliott of assaulting her multiple times over the course of a week. The woman told police that, in one instance, Elliott assaulted her while they sat in a parked car.
The district attorney chose not to pursue charges against Elliott because of conflicting stories. Witnesses at the scene said they did not see an assault occur.
Elliot led the NFL in rushing last year with 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns.
