(NEW YORK, NY) August 2, 2017 — BIG3 announced today that 3’s Company’s Andre Owens has been named Player of the Week following a game-winning performance in Dallas.

“Facing elimination from the BIG3 Championship race, Andre Owens stepped up big time to carry his team and propel 3’s Company to victory in front of more than 15,000 fans,” said BIG3 President & Commissioner Roger Mason Jr. “Andre’s performance has been top-notch all season long and the BIG3 congratulates him on this recognition.”

Andre Owens, the No. 2 Pick in the inaugural BIG3 Draft, continues his impressive play and standing in the league as one of the standout stars this season. In an emotionally charged game without the leadership of Player Coach & Captain Allen Iverson, Andre Owens took control from the game’s first possession to final shot. In the day’s finale, 3’s Company (1-4 coming into the week) pulled out a huge upset against Power (4-1 coming into the week) and Owens sealed the deal with a dramatic 3-pointer to win the game in overtime and keep his team’s playoff hopes alive.

Owens contributed a double-double, pouring in 25 points to tie for Week 6 scoring leader, including four 3-pointers, and added 11 rebounds which ranked in the top three performers in that category. Owens also contributed four assists in the winning effort, good for the second-best total in Dallas. Standing at 6’4”, Owens is the only player in the league ranked in the top six in points, rebounds, assists, and steals.

In Lexington for Week 7 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY (2 p.m. ET), Andre Owens and 3’s Company (2-4) will take the court against the Killer 3’s (2-4) in a must win game for both teams. Fans can expect a battle as Killer 3’s Captain Chauncey Billups hopes to slow Owens down. Captain Rashard Lewis and 3 Headed Monsters (5-1) look to lock up one of the top two seeds in the playoffs with a win over the Ball Hogs (1-5) and Hall of Fame coach Rick Barry’s squad.

Undefeated Trilogy (6-0) will continue to need big games from Rashad McCants and James White to take down Power (4-2) and the offensive strength of Captain Cuttino Mobley and DeShawn Stevenson. Captains Mike Bibby and Ricky Davis will fight to keep Ghost Ballers (3-3) in the fourth and final playoff spot against Julius ‘Dr. J’ Erving’s Tri-State (1-5).

Fans across the country can catch all the action on Monday, August 7 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
