After remaining sidelined for Friday’s practice with a knee injury, the New York Jets announced that Matt Forte would be ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is great news for Bilal Powell owners as he’ll be the starter on Sunday with rookie Elijah McGuire in as a change-of-pace role behind him.
When Forte missed week 4 against Jacksonville, Powell rushed for 163 yards on 21 attempts and one touchdown. Powell was also effective in the passing game with four receptions for 27 yards. Tampa Bay allows 116.6 yards per game on the ground and has allowed eight rushing touchdowns this year so far. And have allowed multiple backs, LeSean McCoy (91 yards rushing) and Adrian Peterson (134 yards rushing) to both have multiple scoring games.
OH and don’t forget this Buccaneers defense even allowed this to happen:

Yes, you watched that right. Yes, that was Giants quarterback Eli Manning running it in for a 14 yard touchdown. Powell is a borderline RB1, definite RB2 for this week.
