After a week of headlines came after head coach Ben McAdoo announced that Geno Smith would start at quarterback over Eli Manning last week, the New York Giants decided Monday that they were going to part ways with the new head coach.
McAdoo, just 12 games in (2-10) should’ve saw this coming as reports back in October said that he already lost the locker room.
Yes poor offensive line play, the loss of wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall and suspect play from their defense at times all went into play. But one thing was clear and that was that Ben McAdoo just wasn’t the guy in New York. Suspending key starters Janoris Jenkins and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, benching Manning for Smith instead of rookie Davis Webb…yeah it was time.
McAdoo should be thankful that they let him in fly back on the plane from Oakland.
