Former Minnesota Vikings running back, Jerick Mckinnon is expected to sign a four-year deal Wednesday with the San Francisco 49ers according to multiple reports.

It’s probably one of the most unexpected deals of free agency. But the Carlos Hyde signing with the Cleveland Browns left a hole in the backfield in San Fran that the 49ers needed to fill. The deal is expected to be a four-year deal worth $30 million.

Rotoworld’s Evan Silva labeled McKinnon a “poor man’s Alvin Kamara” as an in-space playmaker who can run it and catch it. McKinnon totaled 991 yards and five touchdowns last season and is now penciled in as the Niners’ top back after Hyde signed with Cleveland.
