Despite reports of the New Orleans Saints making a hard push to acquire wideout Jordy Nelson, it appears that their late push won’t be enough. While Nelson has yet to agree to a deal with the Oakland Raiders, it does seem evident that he’s going to Oakland.
Raiders are releasing WR Michael Crabtree, per source.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter the Raiders are releasing wideout Michael Crabtree. Though this is interesting as Wednesday The Las Vegas Review-Journal said that the Raiders are expected to release Crabtree if they sign free agent Jordy Nelson.
Now we know that contract negotiations were close and that the Raiders weren’t going to let Crabtree go unless they got Nelson. So in hindsight, the Raiders and Nelson must be a sure thing at this point.
Sources: If Michael Crabtree is cut by the Raiders, Crabtree would prefer to play for a team in Texas. Which would make the Cowboys and Texans both potential options.
