As a reminder, BIG3 play will begin June 22 in Houston.

Draft Results

Round 1

1. Ball Hogs: Andre Owens, G

2. 3’s Company: Andre Emmett, G/F

3. Killer 3s: Alan Anderson, G/F

4. Power: Chris “Birdman” Andersen, F/C

5. Tri-State: David Hawkins, G/F

6. Ghost Ballers: Lee Nailon, F

The big name that came off the board in the first round was Chris Andersen.

Birdman spent 15 seasons in the NBA and, at his peak, served as a constant source of energy off the bench for the Miami Heat during their run to the 2012-13 title.

Now, he’ll bring his tenacious interior stylings to a Power team that allowed a league-high 487 points en route to a 4-6 finish last season.

Round 2

7. Ball Hogs: Corsley Edwards, F/C

8. 3’s Company: Jason Maxiell, C

9. Killer 3s: Ryan Hollins, C

10. Power: Quentin Richardson, G/F

11. 3 Headed Monsters: Salim Stoudamire, G

12. Tri-State: Robert Hite, G

13. Ghost Ballers: Marcus Banks, G

The best story to come out of Round 2 was also the product of a selection by Power.

After going with Andersen in Round 1, Power selected swingman Quentin Richardson at No. 10 overall.

Not only will Richardson—a 35.5 percent three-point shooter over 13 NBA seasons—allow Power to space the floor, but he’ll get to reunite with former Los Angeles Clippers teammate Corey Maggette.

Now all they need is Darius Miles to complete the legendary 2000 Hollywood triumvirate.

Round 3

14. Ball Hogs: Jermaine Taylor, G

15. 3’s Company: Derrick Byars, G/F

16Killer 3s: Mike James, G

17. Power: Ryan Gomes, F

18. Tri-State: Bonzi Wells, G

19. Ghost Ballers: Mario West, G

The third round didn’t include a host of familiar names, but it was hard to ignore Bonzi Wells returning to Tri-State a year after he suited up for the squad coached by Julius Erving.

Last season, the former Portland Trail Blazers guard led all players in steals with seven, and he finished with the 10th-best net rating among all qualified participants.

On a team that boasts plenty of offensive firepower with Jermaine O’Neal, Nate Robinson and Amar’e Stoudemire, Wells should slot in nicely as a defensive specialist who can get under opponents’ skin thanks to his physical perimeter stylings.
