14 Days of Mocking: #6 Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic are a bad team, and that in itself is an understatement. Their best player is Nikola Vucevic, that is just sad. They have Aaron Gordon who is likely on the way out, and I would not be surprised if they trade Nikola for some young talent or even a second draft pick. Now the Magic need a guard who has playmaking ability and if Luka Doncic is available by the fourth pick, they will probably trade up to the Mavs do not take him. But since I am doing this with no trades, I doubt they would reach and get a playmaking guard in Trae Young and Collin Sexton. The city of Orlando is always wanting a dominant big man. They had two of the most physically strongest and most athletic centers of all time, Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard.

With the 6thoverall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic select…
Wendell Carter. Carter is one of the strongest big men in this draft and is often overlooked because of his teammate Marvin Bagley. Carter played alongside Bagley and still averaged 13.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. This is huge as with his long 6’10 frame allows him to protect the rim and grab rebounds. Not to mention he is fast for a big man and fits well with the speed of the modern NBA. Carter averaged 2.1 blocks a game and was established as one of the best paint protecting centers in the league. However, he did not have too great of a season when it came to guarding the pick and roll, which will need some work. This can be hidden by their very good defensive rookie, Jonathan Issac.
