The 2021 MLB season is underway and they made it through the first month of baseball without any major problems and zero COVID pauses. Though we’re just a sliver into this year’s season, it’s already been a crazy one as the defending World Series Champions sit in second place of their division, and first baseman, Anthony Rizzo recorded his first-ever strikeout.
Yes, you read that right and if you don’t believe me, just watch:

Though despite being just a month into the MLB season, we’ve already determined some great target spots to bet on and pitchers to target this year when placing your wagers. As always you want to make sure you get the best line and the best odds, so make sure to track all of your live MLB odds here so you’ll always get the best line.
Los Angeles Dodgers:
This seems like a no-brainer. Bet the defending world series champions every night. However, betting baseball is very very situational and pitchers are key. While the Dodgers do have one of, if not the best rotations in baseball it makes betting these guys every night a no-brainer. However, as most baseball fans know, you play your divisional opponents the most and for the Dodgers, their divisional opponents have a nice rotation of pitchers themselves.
San Francisco Giants:
This is a team that’s going to contend for the NL West title and depending on how the season goes they might even be able to steal it from the Dodgers. With four, technically five of their pitchers from their rotation still holding undefeated records through one month of baseball is pretty impressive. Not to mention, Alex Wood, Johnny Cueto, and Anthony DeSclafani all holding ERA’s under two. Don’t sleep on the sleeping Giant that’s brewing in San Francisco.
What in the world is this guy talking about? That’s probably exactly what you’re saying as you read that headline. But the Rockies aren’t on here as a team to bet, they’re a team to fade. Posting a 1-9 record on the road, with that win coming in dramatic fashion over the San Francisco Giants. Now while it’s still very early in the season, I’d continue to fade the Rockies when they’re away from Coors Field.
Prop Bets against the Milwaukee Brewers:
Since 2016, the Brewers have been one the most susceptible teams to striking out. And after one month in the books, they find themselves at the bottom yet again, as they’re just a hair behind the Texas Rangers.
Now while their record may not show it, as they sit at 15-10, the Brewers, will be a good team to target when selecting an opposing pitcher’s strikeout prop bets when they face the Brewers. The same can be said for the Texas Rangers as well.
Houston Astros are going far:
While most World Series odds trackers have the Houston Astros just cracking the top 10 in teams most likely to win the World Series this year, in my personal opinion, I truly believe that they’re one of the three teams that can do it. From pitching to batting and to fielding, they have all of their bases covered. Houston will definitely be a team that I will target and place a significant amount of wagers on this season.
